50-55 Plus Club announces events

GLOVERSVILLE - The Gloversville 50-55 Plus Club meets every Monday at the Senior Citizens Service Center of Gloversville & Fulton County, 53 Church St. The meetings start at 1 p.m. unless noted.

New members are always welcome. The dues are $10 a year. Mary Lou Adams is collecting for this year at the Monday meetings.

A Valentine Day's pot luck took place Monday with 54 members and guests in attendance. Carol Coon was the chairwoman. Her committee and helpers were Beverly and Dom DeChiro, Eleanor Gifford, Ginny McCoy, Ginny McCue, John Nicosia, Angie Ruggeri, Mariena Shults and Carol Visconti.

The senior center will be closed Monday for Presidents' Day.

The following events are for March:

On March 7, the meeting will be followed with refreshments and a celebration of the members who have birthdays in March.

On March 14, a St. Patrick's Day celebration and meeting will be followed by singing songs and refreshments. Members are asked to wear green, a news release said.

On March 21, there will be no meeting. The fundraiser auction will be at 1 p.m. with Visconti as the auctioneer. All seniors can attend. Her committee will be Pat Boles, Coon, Beverly DeChiro and McCue.

Members, or anyone who wants to donate items such as small furniture, lamps, pictures, frames, household items, knicknacks, blankets or bedspreads, can bring them to the center on Feb. 28 or March 7. All items should be in by March 17.

On March 28, will be the meeting.
