BROADALBIN - The Broadalbin Senior Citizens met Dec. 22 for the Office for Aging luncheon and meeting, with 30 people in attendance.
President Joe McDonald presided over the meeting. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. "The Lord's Prayer" was led by Kay Leggett, chaplain.
The reports of Marge Gunderson, secretary, and Phil Guadagno, treasurer, were accepted. The 2011 dues are now due, a news release said.
Pat Ryfa, trip chairman, noted the last payment for the Hawaii trip was due at the meeting.
Donna Chambers, program chairwoman, read an article an old soldier (from the past) wrote. After military service, he was left alone with little or nothing to live on. However, he believed in the true spirit of Christmas, sharing it with others and not asking for more, Chambers said.
Time for a silent prayer was given and Chambers said a prayer for all military members away from home and for those in hospitals during Christmas time.
The next meeting will be Wednesday. There is no program planned. Bingo can be played. Members are to bring canned goods for a local food pantry.
Reservations should be made in advance for the OFA meal. All seniors are welcome to attend.
