JOHNSTOWN - The 50 Plus Club, housed in the Shirley J. Luck Senior Citizens Center, 109 E. Main St., will be hosting a social afternoon Thursday. This is a casual afternoon with cookies, hot chocolate, coffee and Christmas music.
Ticket also are available for the club's New Year's party at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 30. The cost for tickets is $7. Guests will have dinner and an afternoon with music and a traditional New Year's toast with resolutions.
The following are new trips for 2011.
On March 20, a Beeches dinner theater in Rome, Oneida County, for a spring dinner theater celebration with an Irish show. The buffet will include some breakfast dishes, Irish dishes and others. The cost will be $55 for members; $58 for non-members.
On May 15, a Proctor's Theatre show, "The Odd Couple" and dinner at the Raindancer. The cost will be $58 for members; $65 for non-members.
May 22-26, five days and four nights on the boardwalk at Virginia Beach. The days will consist of: a tour of Fort Monroe and the Casemate Mueum; a tour of Rowena's (jam and jelly factory); a tour of Virginia Air and Space Center; a tour of Norfolk Naval Base. The cost will be $448 for doubles in the same room and $548 will be the single room rate.
On June 17, a Hudson Valley tour of the Culinary Institute of America. After the tour, there will be lunch at St. Andrews Cafe and then there will be a trip to Mount St. Alphonsus Redemptorist Pastoral Center. The cost will be $60 for members; $65 for non-members.
