Ronald and Mary Charney of Johnstown announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Charney, to Erik Rockwell, the son of David and Jennifer Rockwell of Edinburg.
Charney, who is a 2003 graduate of Johnstown High School, received a bachelor's degree in biology from the State University of New York at Geneseo, Livingston County, in 2006 and a master's degree in education from Union Graduate College in 2008. She is employed as a science teacher at Northville Central School.
Rockwell, a 2002 graduate of Northville Central School, received a bachelor's degree in meteorology from SUNY Oneonta, Otsego County, in 2006. He is employed at NBT Bank and is attending Fulton-Montgomery Community College for computer technology.
