Couple planning wedding

Patricia and Mark Hallenbeck of Gloversville announce the engagement of their daughter, Leigha Hillmann, to Jeremy Rue, the son of Connie Rue and the late Richard Rue of Knox, Albany County.

Hillmann, who is a 2001 graduate of Gloversville High School, received a bachelor's degree in childhood education from the State University of New York at Oneonta, Otsego County, in 2004 and received a master's degree in special education from Russell Sage College in 2006. She is employed as a special education teacher with the Canajoharie Central School District.

Rue, who is a 2001 graduate of Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School, served for nine years in the Army National Guard, including a tour in Iraq. He received an associate's degree in fire protection technology from Schenectady County Community College in 2004 and is employed as a paramedic.
