Nicole Wicksell, the daughter of Donald and Paula Wicksell of Mayfield, was united in marriage to James Higgins Jr., the son of James and Theodora Higgins of Broadalbin, on Aug. 14.

The ceremony took place at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Broadalbin. Following the ceremony, a reception for 180 guests took place at Lanzi's on the Lake.

The maid of honor was Amanda Vickerson. The matron of honor was Jessical Wendel. The bridal attendants included Ashley Delaney, Nicole Phillips, Rebecca Rostkowski, Heidi Reese, Jessica Dunton and Jessica Swartz. The flower girl was Alyssa Wendel.

The best men were Joshua Higgins and Brian Reese. The groomsmen included Dustin Wicksell, Jeremy Higgins, Michael Pifko, John Rostkowski, Pat Burd and Rob Allen. The ringbearer was J.J. Reese.

The bride is a 2003 graduate from Mayfield High School and recently graduated from Albany Medical College. She is employed as a physician's assistant at the Bassett Health, Gloversville.

The bridegroom is a 1998 graduate from Broadalbin-Perth High School. He attended Utica College and graduate school at Sage. He is employed at Gloversville High School where he teaches health education.
