McGinnis Club announces trip

GLOVERSVILLE - The Ida L. McGinnis Club had its regular meeting Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Third Avenue.

President Arla Fonda called the meeting to order. Doris Dingman accompanied the group with the selection titled "Blessed Assurance." Angie Ruggeri led the devotions and opening prayer. Arla Fonda led the Pledge of Allegiance and in singing "America."

There were 31 members present.

The Sunshine report was given by Jeanette Fonda. The treasurer's report was given by Linda Zilka.

Under new business, the discussion of the Christmas party was tabled until Shirley Frederick could present the past minutes.

The September and October birthdays were celebrated. The birthday raffle winners were Beverly Retersdorf for September and Julia Szurek for October.

The meeting was adjourned, with a motion made by Betty Gugenberger and seconded by Julia Hall

Dingman accompanied the group for the closing selection.

The birthday refreshments, cupcakes and ice cream were provided by Claire Myzal, Angie Ruggeri and Barbara Winnie, the committee for November.

The 50-50 winners were Dorothy Roy, Irene Viola and Katherine VanAlstyne.

The next Turning Stone trip will be Nov. 16. Anyone interested can contact Jeannie McDuffie.

Bingo was called by Roy.

The next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
