Wells Seniors plan holiday dinner

October 30, 2010
Leader Herald

WELLS - The Wells Seniors went to Fo-Castle Farm for apple picking for their September social. After picking apples, the group had lunch at the FoCastle country store. At the October business meeting, Dr. John Zeis talked to us about Wells Central School and the idea and benefits of it merging in the future.

For the October social, there was a pot luck supper at the Wells meal site. The room was decorated with pumpkin garland that lit up and fall centerpieces. Small scarecrows and large pumpkin heads were scattered around the room and halloween music filled the air. There was a variety of food selections as well as the desserts. After eating, the group played a game of pass the pumpkin. The winners were Bonnie Bushnell from table one; Dan Bove from table two; and Bob Nielsen from table three. After that, some of the seniors tried playing the old fashioned paddle ball which didn't seem as easy as when we were kids. Mary Nielsen's ball hit the paddle more times consecutively than anyone elses. Everyone left in a happy mood.

Our next business meeting is Nov. 10 at 12:30 p.m. Nov 18, is our senior Thanksgiving dinner at the meal site at 12:30 p.m. Call Kelly Brenan to RSVP at 924-4066.

Our Christmas party will be on Dec 15 at the Timeless Tavern.

The Wells Seniors meet on the second Wednesday of the month for a business meeting and the fourth Wednesday of the month for a social. All Wells seniors are invited to join this group . For more information, call President Dolores Margies 924-7311 or Vice President Grace Lizak 924-9268.
