CANAJOHARIE - The following is the Arkell Center calendar of events for the month of November.
Daily activities: Cards, dominos and reading.
Mondays-Fridays: Noon meals are provided by the Meals of Montgomery program. Reservations are required by noon the previous day.
Wednesday: From 3 to 4 p.m. gentle yoga with instructor, Sylvia Wohlgemuth.
The Arkell Center will be closed Nov. 25, and Nov. 26, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The Meals of Montgomery program will also be closed on these dates.
Monday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.,, Life Line Radiology. Preregistration is required by calling 1-888-653-6412.
Thursday at 7 p.m., Canajoharie-Fort Plain Garden Club meeting.
Friday, Nov. 12 and 19 at 12:45 p.m., Canajoharie Senior Citizens Club meeting.
Monday at 6:30 p.m. Palatine Literary Society meeting with guest speaker, artist, Jim Parker.
Nov. 9 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Montgomery County Public Health Department will sponsor a seasonal flu and pneumonia clinic for anyone 18 years and older. No appointments are required. Those with Medicare Part B should bring their card with them as they do not bill Medicare managed care/supplemental insurance plans. No other insurance plans will be billed. The costs will be $30 for a flu shot and $20 for a pneumonia shot. Payment can be by cash, check or money order and they do not accept credit/debit cards.
Nov. 10 at 12:30 p.m., Montgomery County Office for the Aging Executive Director Kimberly Davis, will present an "Agency Spotlight" for all interested senior citizens, their families and guests.
Nov. 11 at noon, the Meals of Montgomery will host its annual Veterans Day luncheon, featuring Yankee pot roast, red potatoes, stuffing, carrots, dinner roll, red, white and blue shortcake and beverage. Call 673-5048 or 673-4408 to make reservations. The suggested donation will be $3 for those 60 years of age or older.
Nov. 12 at 1:30 p.m., public card party. The donation will be $2. There will be prizes and light refreshments,
Nov. 18 at noon, the Meals of Montgomery will host its annual Thanksgiving luncheon featuring roast turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, peas and carrots, dinner roll, pumpkin pie and beverage. Call 673-5048 or 673-4408 to make reservations. The suggested donation will be $3 for those ages 60 or older. The musical program will be presented by Elinor & Friends after the luncheon.
