Roy Town and Rosemary Rice, both of Mayfield, announce the engagement of their daughter, Melanie Town, to Andrew Lathrop, the son of Douglas Lathrop of Yuma, Ariz. and Karen Lathrop of Ballston Lake.
Town is a 2000 graduate of Mayfield High School and a 2005 graduate of the State University of New York at Brockport, Monroe County, with an associate and a bachelor's degree. She is employed with the Gloversville Enlarged School District as a teaching assistant and is working toward a teaching degree.
Lathrop is a 1993 graduate of Gloversville High School and attended SUNY Delhi, Delaware County, for hotel and restaurant management. He is employed as a chef at Sam's Seafood and Steakhouse, Johnstown.
