CAROGA LAKE - The Nick Stoner Senior Citizens treated their 80-plus members to a dinner at the Arietta Hotel, with 47 members and one guest in attendance. The 80-plus members were presented with corsages.
Harriett Flansburg opened with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
President Grace Bevington-Eglin mentioned Tuesday's trip to Lake George. Anyone with questions can call Bevington-Eglin at 762-2537.
On Oct. 5, for the 30th anniversary of the club, a luncheon will be at the Saltsman's Hotel. People can sign up by calling Flansburg at 762-3766.
Also, for the next two years, the nominating chairman appointed by Bevington-Eglin is Jack McCarthy. His committee will be Gerry Mullins and Mary Lou Patterson.
Flansburg and Bevington-Eglin presented letters and certificates to 14 people who were 90 years old. Letters of appreciation from State Sen. Hugh T. Farley and Assemblyman Marc Butler were received. Floral bouquets were presented to Marion Orsell and Gerry Wooster by Flansburg.
Bevington-Eglin thanked the committee, which included: Flansburg, chairwoman; Dottie Blowers, Donna Dise and Shirley Holliday. McCarthy had charge of raffle tickets.
Patterson and Pat McLaughlin won the 50-50.
The next meeting and luncheon will be Oct. 5.
