NORTHAMPTON - An investigation into the growing of marijuana has led to at least one arrest, and more are pending, Gloversville police said this morning.
Capt. James Lorenzoni said Gloversville police teamed up with Johnstown police, Fulton County sheriff's deputies and state police to conduct a raid on a Northampton residence on Tuesday.
Because the investigation is ongoing and involves other locations and police jurisdictions, officials are not releasing details of the raid, including the name of the individual arrested.
Lorenzoni said authorities expect to make more arrests in the coming days.
Officials also are continuing to gather evidence at the site of the raid, he said. So far, more than 275 full mature marijuana plants have been collected as evidence, he said.
Authorities would not say whether a similar arrest on the same day in Stratford was related to the Northampton case.
In the Stratford case, state police arrested Daniel G. Ryan, 43, on charges of unlawfully growing cannabis, tampering with physical evidence, fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. That arrest was made at 206 Mallett Hill Road.
