Shannon Egan, the daughter of Thomas and Nancy Egan of Johnstown, was united in marriage to Justin VanCoughnett, the son of Robert and Cynthia VanCoughnett of Adams Center, Jefferson County, at 4 p.m. July 17.
The ceremony took place in Adams Center on the property of the bride and bridegroom. The Rev. Bud Masters officiated.
The bride was escorted by her father.

The maid of honor was Mallory Egan of Gloversville. The bridal attendants were: Nicole Egan of Mayfield; Sharon Busch of Grand Forks, N.D.; Krystal Oare of Plattsburgh, Clinton County; Amanda Oare of Johnstown; and Jessica VanCoughnett and Brooke VanCoughnett, both of Adams Center. The flower girl was Morgan Egan, niece of the bride.
The best man was Matthew Burnash of Watertown, Jefferson County. The groomsmen were: Chad Egan of Mayfield; Jason Reese of Gloversville; Nathan Mittag of Waukee, Iowa; and Justin Elliott and Adam Blair, both of Adams Center. The ringbearer was Colton Reese, nephew of the bride.
A reception for 200 guests took place in Adams Center on the property of the bride and bridegroom.
The wedding trip took place in the Poconos. The couple resides in Gloversville.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Broadalbin-Perth High School and a 2007 and 2009 graduate of the College of St. Rose. She is a teacher at Gloversville High School.
The bridegroom is a 2001 graduate of South Jefferson High School and a 2006 graduate of Iowa State University. He is a project manager for the Delaney Group.
