Getman Home hosts Wii bowling

GLOVERSVILLE -The Getman Memorial Home had its first bowling banquet Aug. 5 at the home. Awards were presented by Jan Lander, board president, and Kate Goodemote, staff bowling team director. The residents and staff members have been bowling with the Nintendo Wii. The entire team was present for the awards and luncheon. A special cake with a bowler and pins was made by board member Linda Fisher.

The bowler awards are as follows: Evelyn Strobeck, highest average; Beverly Gifford, high game; Geraldine VanDerVeer and Strobeck, most games bowled; Strobeck, outstanding bowler; VanDerVeer, most improved; George Decker, outstanding coach award; Jean Nicolella, Laura Ryan, Gladys Oaksford, Ellen Alvord, team members; Dorothy Rockwell, Cecelia Kuskowski, Cecele Dence, Josie Caldaroni; cheering squad.

The summer-fall league starts the first rainy afternoon in August, a news release said.
