Charles H. Gross

Charles H. Gross "Uncle" of State Hwy 67, Johnstown, has gone home to our Lord on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. He was born September 4, 1915, and was 94 years old.

He was the son of the late Clarence Gross, stepson of George E. Heagle Sr. and the son of Lillian Keck-Heagle of Johnstown. He is survived by one sister, Georgiana Elphee Edwards, and Jenny Heagle (sister-in-law) of Johnstown, New York. He was preceded in death by brothers, George E. Heagle Jr., and John and Frank Gross. He was the beloved uncle of Mr. and Mrs. E. Michael Heagle of Johnstown, New York, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Heagle of Simpsonville, South Carolina; great-uncle to Mr. and Mrs. Jason Kohout of Johnstown, New York, Kierian M. Heagle and Chris Cross of Gloversville, New York, and great-great uncle to Jack and Juliana Kohout.

Mr. Gross was employed by Campbell's Orchard and Lohse flower shop. He was an avid gardener and stamp collector, and was loved by all who knew him.

Services will be at Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, N.Y., on July 10, 2010, at 10 a.m. Visitation prior to service from 9 until 10 a.m., followed by burial at Johnstown Cemetery.

With many thoughts in our head, so many things left unsaid, no one can ever take your place.

Your image in our hearts will never be erased. As you smile on us from heaven above, our minds are sad, but our hearts are filled with love. We love you, "Uncle." You meant the world to us.
