McGinnis Club plans Turning Stone trip

GLOVERSVILLE - At the Ida L. McGinnis Club meeting, Angie Ruggeri, chaplain, led in the devotions and "The Lord's Prayer." There were 31 in attendance.

President Bob Harpp led in the Pledge of Allegiance and in singing "America."

The reports of the secretary and treasurer were accepted as read. Jeannette Fonda, sunshine chairwoman, sent cards to shut-ins.

Under old business, Jeannie McDuffie reminded members to sign up for the July 29 senior picnic at the Concordia Club.

Under new business, Julie Martin announced there will be a spaghetti dinner to benefit the Meals on Wheels program June 28 at Rob & Crystal's All-American Diner. It will cost $8.

There were two new members - Winnie Sweet and Sandy Sleezer.

The next Turning Stone trip will be July 20. Call McDuffie at 725-8396 for more information.

There will be no meeting during July and August. On Sept. 14, the annual picnic will be conducted. For those who haven't done so, sign up with Shirley Frederick at 725-0187. The picnic will be catered by the Hot Dog Hut.

Anne Etherton and Mary Sanges were the 50-50 winners.

Prior to the meeting, representatives from the Union Foot Solutions spoke briefly on shoes and Mister Comfort, for people with diabetes and on medicine.

The meeting was adjourned. Refreshments were served. Dorothy Roy called bingo.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, which will be the last meeting until September. The May and June birthdays will be observed.
