David F. Ressico, 92, formerly of Johnstown, N.Y., died March 13, 2010, at Blake Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla., following a courageous battle with cancer. Services were held March 18 at 11 a.m. at Mansion Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Ellenton, Fla. David was born to the late Angelo and Severina (Berrone) Ressico on November 21, 1917, in Corona, New York. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth (Hoff) Nellis, and second wife, Doris (Johnson) Mesick. Most of David's life was spent in New York, his parents coming through Ellis Island. David retired to Bradenton in 1990. David worked most of his life as an auto mechanic and owned two service stations in New York. He also worked as a mechanic for Fulton County before retiring in 1985. David was preceded in death by: three brothers, Alfred, Lewis, and Phillip; two sisters, Rena and Delma; two children, Linda Ressico and Jean (Ressico) Staley. Survivors include: two daughters, Sandra (Ressico) Campbell of Norristown, Pa. and Margo (Mesick) Zelezniak of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Christopher, Deborah, Walter, Gregory and David; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins around the country. David was a member of the 1st Nazarene Church in Bradenton. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in David's name to the 1st Bradenton Nazarene Church, 1616 59th St.W., or your local SPCA.
