MAYFIELD -Carl Edwards opened a recent meeting of the Mayfield Bannertown 50 Plus Club with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Pat Keane read a poem and led in "The Lord's Prayer." Sue Orcutt, from the Office for the Aging, spoke about new programs and insurance updates that OFA has coming up. Lunch was served with 22 people in attendance.
The reports of the secretary and treasurer were read and accepted. Jane Bonfey, sunshine chairwoman, sent Valentine's Day cards to the shut-ins.
Beverly Ashby and Lorraine Potacki were accepted as new members.
Joan Bezio reported on upcoming trips in June and August. Future picnics also were discussed.
Under new business, the April county council meeting was noted and a committee was setup to check on the club's anniversary banquet, which will be in May.
The January and February birthdays were observed. Prizes were won by: Betty Perham; door prize, Marvel Murray; 50-50, Joan Himes; Pat Ford, $1; and basket raffle, Pat Keane.
The next meeting will include a covered dish and an Easter basket contest. Bring table service. The dessert will be furnished by Ford and Murray. The meeting was adjourned.
