Vinah Rector, a longtime resident of Gloversville, celebrated her 90th birthday Jan. 4 at the Palatine Nursing Home. She had cake and ice cream with two of her six children: Sandra Vavruick and Diane Henderson, both of Gloversville; and her grandson, Joseph Vavruick of Mayfield. Her other children are: Tom Rector of Gloversville; Kathryn Wren of Orlando, Fla., Susan Hayes of Sebastian, Fla. and Nancy Waddington of Fort Myers, Fla. Gifts and cards were presented, as well as a citation from state Sen. Hugh T. Farley, R-Niskayuna, in recognition of her 90th birthday.
