On Jan. 14, there were 38 members who gathered for the presentation of Steve Sears, the owner of a new business, Lone Coffee. The club and the center have teamed together to collect personal care and first-aid items to be sent to Haiti. Also, monetary donations will be accepted. There is a drop box in the center lobby for donations.
On Thursday at 1:15 p.m. there will be the return of soup and sandwich day at the center. Bring a sandwich and the club will provide homemade soup. Also on this day, there will be a guest speaker from the office of Assemblyman Marc Butler, R-Newport.
Information will be provided to all concerning donations, packages and shipping to our soldiers. Additionally, information will be provided concerning the new devastation in Haiti. Come and learn the proper way to donate. Unfortunately, there are many scams occurring during these difficult times. Anyone can attend this event.
