Lyndsey Bacon, the daughter of John and Rebecca Bacon of Gloversville, was united in marriage to William Gates, the son of William Gates of Randolph, Vt., and Beth Umba of Bethel, Vt., at 11 a.m. Aug. 15, 2009.
The ceremony took place at the Beardslee Castle, Little Falls. The Rev. R.W. Williams officiated.
The bride was escorted by her father.

The maid of honor was Anne Bacon of Gloversville, sister of the bride. The bridal attendants were: Sarah Chapp of Lebanon, N.H., and Mackensie Rohrs of Gloversville, cousins of the bride; Sandy Gates of Bethel, sister of the bridegroom; Ruth LoCascio and Jennifer Hill of Gloversville.
The best man was Jason Nickerson of Bethel. The ushers were: John Bacon of Gloversville, brother of the bride; Christian Rohrs of Potsdam, cousin of the bride; Matthew Washburn and Sean Davis, both of Bethel; and Charles Rittenburg of Barre, Vt.
A reception for 125 guests took place at the Beardslee Castle.
A wedding trip took place in Cape Cod, Mass. The couple resides in South Burlington, Vt.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Gloversville High School and a 2008 graduate of St. Lawrence University. She is employed at Allscripts Healthcare Solutions as an ePrescribe support consultant.
The bridegroom is a 2004 graduate of Whitcomb High School and attended Norwich University. He is a staff sergeant in the Vermont Army National Guard and is scheduled for deployment to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom.
