Jeannine Larabee
Mrs. Jeannine Larabee, 81, of Gloversville, passed away Monday at Nathan Littauer Hospital. Mrs. Larabee was born in Fonda on November 1, 1928. She was the daughter of the late William A. and Vivian Miller Healey. Jeannine graduated Gloversville High School and Amsterdam Business School. She had worked for a short time at Society Hill Linen later in life. Jeannine was a most devoted family person. Her greatest love was family and being a homemaker. She always enjoyed cooking and constant family surroundings. She created many beautiful ceramic pieces and also worked with stained glass, sharing her skills with family, especially grandchildren.
Jeannine married Raymond G. Larabee on September 6, 1948; he predeceased her in 1996.
Her loving family consists of her children, Marcia (John "Bomber") Lyons of Tribes Hill and Kim (Judith) Larabee of Gloversville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sean Larabee, Meeghan Lyons, and Jill Shang; and great-grandchildren, Thomas John Lyons and Ashlee Rae Shang; several nieces and nephews. Jeannine was predeceased by a brother, William Healey.
A prayer service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 26, at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Spirit Church, 149 S. Main St., Gloversville, with the Reverend Donald Czelusniak, pastor, as celebrant. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the prayer service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of her family in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Mt. Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, N.Y. 12078.
