Doris E. Kadle, age 87, of Gloversville, passed away Friday morning, December 4, 2009, at Ellis hospital in Schenectady. She was born July 4, 1922, in Amsterdam, the daughter of the late John F. and Beatrice Savoy Harrigan. She graduated from high school in Mayfield, and was a lifelong area resident.

Doris was employed as head cashier for several area supermarkets and was last employed for Chicago Supermarket of Gloversville. She was of the Catholic faith, and a former member of the Gloversville American Legion and the women's golfing league of Holland Meadows Golf Course.

She is survived by: her daughter, Susan J. Leach of Gloversville; two grandchildren, Michael W. Leach of Gloversville and Aaron F. Leach of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William W. Kadle, on September 25, 1988.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, December 7, at the Finocan Funeral Home Inc., 13 Prospect Ave., Gloversville. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m with the Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak officiating. Interment will take place in the St. Joesph's Cemetery, Amsterdam.
