Constance M. Adams

Constance M. Adams, 56, of Kettle Road, Amsterdam, died Thursday morning, December 3, 2009, at the Mountain Valley Hospice House.

She was born in Amsterdam on November 2, 1953, a daughter of Raymond J. and Mary Wadsworth Horton and was a 1972 graduate of Perth High School. Connie was a lifelong area resident.

She served in the U.S. Army for three years in Germany and later was a member of the Stratton Air National Guard for twenty years, retiring in 2000.

Following her retirement, Connie worked at various jobs until the onset of illness.

She enjoyed camping and interior decorating. Most of all, Connie loved spending time with family, friends, and her animals.

She was predeceased by her mother, Mary, who died on January 16, 2009.

Survivors include a son, Nathan Adams of Amsterdam; her devoted companion, James Frasier of Johnstown; her father, Raymond J. Horton of Amsterdam; a brother, David W. (Lena) Horton of Johnstown; a sister, Delores (Myrt) Cyr of Amsterdam; three nieces, Amanda Horton, Stephanie Fricke, and Monica Loux; a nephew, Brian Cyr; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 38 West Main Street, Broadalbin with Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams, officiating. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wadsworth Cemetery, Hope. Those desiring may contribute to a trust fund set up for her son, Nathan Adams, in care of NBT.
