Galway library plans events
GALWAY - The Galway Public Library is offering the following programs for December:
On Saturday, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. there will be Patty Kay's photographic exhibit of Galway elders titled "Who Are You Galway?" It will include a presentation and discussion.
On Dec. 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. there will be a Save Energy, Save Dollars presentation. Those attending will receive a free CFL light plus more energy saving products from Cornell Cooperative Extension, a news release said.

On Dec. 11, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Kids Craft - make it and take it.
On Dec. 12, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. people can meet Teri Gay of Charlton. Gay is the author of "Strength Without Compromise: Womanly Influence and Political Identity in 20th Century Rural Upstate New York."
On Dec. 14, from 6 to 7 p.m., angel crafting with Mary Brisson.
On Dec. 17, from 4 to 4:30 p.m., family holiday safety will be discussed with local firefighter Fred Richards.
On Dec. 18, from 7 to 8 p.m., an evening with author Joe Bruchac. A discussion and signing of his latest book, "March Toward the Thunder." It is the story of 15 year old Louis Nolette, an Abenaki boy from Canada, and his experience marching from New York to Virginia in the 69th New York Volunteers - the "Fighting 69th Irish Brigade" of the Civil War, the release said.
On Dec. 29, from 7 to 8 p.m. there will be a discussion and signing of "Ghosts of War," with local author and Iraq Veteran Ryan Smithson.
Smithson, a U.S. Army reservist, was only 19 years old when he went to Iraq as an engineer, and the experience haunted him for years, the release said.
