With a strong showing at the Foothills Council cross-country championships, Broadalbin-Perth's Austin Becker and Justin Ferguson and Gloversville's Pat Peterson were honored by the league as first-team Foothills Council all-stars.

Becker placed fifth at the championship meet on the 3.04-mile Saratoga State Park course with a time of 16:30.41, while Ferguson was fifth at the Section II Class B championships on the course with a time of 16:09.86. The Patriots won the Class B championship to earn a team berth at the New York State Cross-country Championships where they placed seventh.

Peterson was Gloversville's top finisher at the Foothills meet with a time of 16:34.81 to finish sixth. He placed 17th at the Section II Class A championships with a time of 16:40.71.

Broadalbin-Perth's Opal Jessica Bogdan, Sarah DePalma and Emily Baker along with Gloversville's Kellie Lawton and Sam Bielli, were the top local girls Foothills Council honorees, all earning second team status.

In the Western Athletic Conference, the league champion Fonda-Fultonville boys and girls teams dominated the all-star selections.

The Lady Braves placed four runners, Kimberly Geniti, Samantha Phelps, Taylor Quon and Alicia DeRuscio, on the all-star team.

The Braves placed their top five runners, Zak Godfrey, Cody Shave, Matt Hoffman, Michael Scott and Ian Chapin, on the squad.

The Fonda-Fultonville boys also won the Section II Class C title and ran to a ninth-place finish at the state championships.

Fort Plain-Canajoharie placed four runners on the all-star team, while Mayfield placed two runners on the squad.

Cora Soodsma, Brittney Clay, Jessica Hojohn and Terence Petty were WAC all-star honorees for C-FP, while Jesse McNamara and Dave Krutz earned all-star status for Mayfield.
