Missing man found dead

GLOVERSVILLE - A missing city man was found dead in his car earlier this week in Saratoga County.

Thomas Clarke, 35, of 38 Division St., was last seen early in the morning Oct. 18 in the city of Johnstown. The Gloversville Police Department had sought information about his whereabouts and, according to police, had conducted an intensive investigation in an attempt to locate him.

Saratoga County Undersheriff Michael Woodcock said an autopsy was conducted Wednesday on Clarke, and an official cause of death would not be available until police receive the results of toxicology tests.

Woodcock said the cause of death did not appear to be foul play.

The discovery of Clarke's body in Saratoga essentially ended the case for the city Police Department.

"We are saddened by his loss," Gloversville Police Capt. James Lorenzoni said.
