Mayfield extends terms for officials

POSTED: November 12, 2009

MAYFIELD - Three separate propositions to increase term limits for the town's supervisor, clerk and highway superintendent were approved by voters, according to Fulton County Board of Elections officials.

Terms for each of those positions will be four years instead of two. The changes will take effect after the 2011 elections.

Board of Elections official Theresa Dugan said the measure to increase the supervisor's term passed 706-550. The clerk proposition passed 766-483, and the highway superintendent proposition passed 729-482.
