Employees did great job

POSTED: November 4, 2009

It has been approximately one month since the start of another school year. As you are aware, it was a busy start in the Gloversville Enlarged School District. There were several major projects implemented over the summer that had a direct impact on the regular summer repairs and cleaning. Construction is still continuing, but every school was safe and ready for the children on the first day of school. The members of the Buildings and Grounds unit of the district pulled together, worked hard and accomplished a task that the Board of Education wasn't even sure could be done. Thank you to each one of the hard-working employees who accomplished an overwhelming task.

Although there have been many thank yous from students, parents, teachers and principals, we felt that it was important to let the public know the great job that was done and how proud we are of each member who worked so tirelessly for the safety of our students. This is just one more example of what a dedicated, hard-working work force can accomplish.

Again, thank you.

BOB WILLIAMS

GESD B&G unit president

and LORRIE HANIFAN

Fulton County CSEA Local 818 executive vice president
