Ernest R. Handy

Ernest R. Handy, age 61, of Ephratah, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, after a brief illness. He was born on July 23, 1948, in Gloversville to the late Carl Handy and Margaret Case Handy.

Mr. Handy served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was employed for over 20 with Coleco and Buddy L. until he retired due to disability.

He was a member of the Johnstown Church of Christ.

Survivors include: his wife, Florence Paul Handy, whom he married on June 14, 1969; two sons, Ernest R. Handy Jr. of Ephratah and Paul Handy (Connie) of Gloversville; one daughter, Candy Handy of Johnstown; one brother, Lester Handy of Tribes Hill; one sister, Mary Dotson; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 7:00 p.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. The Rev. Don English will preside. Friends and family may call on Friday prior to the service from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Ephratah Rural Cemetery on Monday.
