Careers in the arts topic of seminar
JOHNSTOWN -The Montgomery County Educational and Cultural Council on Arts will host a free seminar on careers in the arts from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Fulton-Montgomery Community College Theater.
The seminar will focus on ways to start and maintain a viable career in the fine arts, including music and performing and visual arts. A panel of three regional artists will discuss their experiences navigating careers in their fields.
The panelists will include musician Sara Milonovich, an Amsterdam native who tours nationally and internationally as a fiddler and folk singer; Byron Nilsson of Glen, an actor, playwright and writer; and Harry Wirtz, a visual artist, photographer and art book maker.
The seminar will begin with an hourlong panel discussion, followed by smaller group discussions on specialized topics. A question-and-answer session will take place at the conclusion of the event.
Refreshments will be provided by the Student Art Guild of FM.
