Couple celebrates 50th wedding anniversary

Eugene and Marlene Felter celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center on Oct. 10. The celebration was given by their three children and took place in the activities room, which was decorated with fall colors.

The couple was married in the former St. John's Lutheran Church, Canajoharie (now the Bassett Health Center) with Doris (Stickles) Kirk as maid of honor and the late Calvin Christman as best man.

In attendance was: their son, Timothy, and his wife, Maryanne Felter, with their daughters, Emily and Beth Felter, of Andover, Mass.; their daughter, Kristen, and her husband, Neil Schmidt, and their daughter, Maggie Schmidt, of Nashua, N.H.; and their son Gregory Felter of Amsterdam; as well as 25 to 30 longtime friends, including one guest from Minneapolis, Minn., and Rexford and Clara Finster from the nursing home.
