District discusses capital plan, merger
ST. JOHNSVILLE - The St. Johnsville Central School District Board of Education discussed the possibility of a scaled-back capital project with BCK Architect Eric Tomosky at its Oct. 19 meeting.
According to a news release, board members decided to wait for results of the feasibility study to be released in December before proceeding with any capital project plans. The study will recommend whether to the district should undertake a formal merger study with either the Fort Plain or Oppenheim-Ephratah school districts.
Middle/High School Principal Greg Sova reported that the merger of St. Johnsville and Oppenheim-Ephratah soccer teams is going well, with the combined teams being more competitive than in recent years, the release said. He also said the two schools held a combined dance Sept. 11 and O-E students have been invited to St. Johnsville' Halloween dance.
