Rose Semione Frank

Rose Semione Frank, 91, of Gloversville, passed away Friday October 16, 2009, at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. She was born in Gloversville on January 23, 1918, the daughter of the late Joseph Sr. and Angelina (Pedone) Semione.

Rose was a lifelong resident of Gloversville. Rose married Bruce D. Frank on June 22, 1934. Together, they shared 67 years of marriage until he passed away on March 15, 2002.

Rose was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Gloversville. She was a member of the Junior Mothers at the former Mt. Carmel Church. Rose was also as a member of the Gloversville PTA and served as a Gloversville Election Inspector. She had many interests: she was a wonderful cook, an avid reader and she enjoyed crocheting. Most of all Rose enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include: her six children, Marilyn Benitez (Jaime) of Farmington Hills, Mich.; Shirley Finefrock (Tom) of Malvern, Ohio; Susan Licardo of Virginia Beach, Va.; Janet Gulick (John) of Gloversville; Rosemary Nicolella (Andy) of Gloversville and Bruce G. Frank (Melissa) of Glens Falls; three brothers, Louis Semione (Geni) of Schenectady; Arthur Semione of Gloversville and Joseph Semione Jr. (Yolanda) of Gloversville; two sisters: Gloria Perrella (Robert) of Gloversville and Elizabeth Grich of Gloversville; twelve grandchildren: Corina Rose and Paul Benitez, John and Stephen Lasher, Daniel Licardo, John, Mark and Kara Gulick, Anthony and Andrew Pezzella and Kyle and Kaylee Frank; eight great-grandchildren: Jason, Justin and Paul Lasher, Griffin, Isabelle, Jack, Benjamin and Preston Gulick and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, Rose was predeceased by: two daughters, Alice and Carole Frank; two brothers, Patsy and America Semione and two sisters, Virginia Fiorito and Anna Lavender.

Visitation will be Monday October 19, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. There will be a prayer service at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday October 20, 2009 with a Mass of Christian burial to follow at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Gloversville. The Mass will be celebrated by the Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Johnstown.
