Charles T. Aird

Charles T. Aird, 75 of Haskells Road, Piseco died Friday October 9, 2009, at Albany Medical Center in Albany. He was born on April 9, 1934, at home in Piseco, New York.

He was predeceased by: his father, Herbert Aird and mother, Laura Lawrence Aird, and two sisters, Helen Colvin and Shirley Roark. He attended Piseco school and Wells High School. He was a United States Army Veteran (1956-1958) and worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Vogel Construction in Speculator, the Town of Arietta and Hamilton County.

He was a former member of the Piseco Volunteer Fire Department and attended the Lake Pleasant Methodist Church. He was a true outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, camping and boating.

Survivors include: his wife of twenty years, Sheila Aird of Piseco. His children, Ron Aird of Richfield Springs, Patricia and her husband Dan Deardorff of Havelock, N.C. and De Anna Partee of Piseco. Sisters, Carol Persons of Speculator and Joyce Page of Piseco and five grandchildren, Jennifer Gardner of Butte, Ark., Renee Swain of Seattle, Wash., David Hoagland of Havelock, N.C., Cassandra Partee of Piseco and Rebecca Aird of Brant Lake. One great grandchild, Caroline Swain of Eagle River, Alaska. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and the people who loved him and most especially his beloved dog and companion Putter.

Family and friends are invited to a service to celebrate his life on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at the Lake Pleasant Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Burial will be held in Higgins Bay Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lake Pleasant Methodist Church. Arrangements are by the Northville Funeral Home.
