AMSTERDAM - A raid on a retail store located less than a mile from police headquarters Thursday led to the arrest of two men, one of whom is charged with selling drugs from the store.

The owner of the Da Gear Box, Alvin Rivera, 35, of 100 Charles Lane, was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Adam Klein, 27, of East Main Street, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

During a search of the store and Rivera's residence by Amsterdam police, state police and Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies, officials found heroin and cash. Officers said Rivera was allegedly selling drugs from his store, which is less than a year old and sells clothing.

Both men were held for arraignment.
