Loving care was provided

September 30, 2009
The Leader Herald

Most people use this column to complain about something, but our mother, Arlene Coons, was a resident of the Extended Care Unit of Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville for the past 14 months.

Although it is the hardest decision for a child to make, to place a parent in a facility, even though you know she required full-time care 24/7, we have never doubted the decision we made. The sensitivity and genuine loving care she received during this time was way beyond our expectations.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who not only took care of all our mom's daily needs, but showed her love and affection in making sure she was comfortable and happy at all times.

In her last few days, they made sure they met not only all of her needs, but those of the entire family. We will always remember them and thank God for this very special gift they gave to our mom.
