H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Mayfield remains unbeaten
By The Leader-HeraldMAYFIELD - Kacie Edwards had 21 service points, five aces, four kills and four digs to lead Mayfield to a 3-0 win over Saratoga Catholic on Wednesday in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match.
Mayfield won by scores of 25-8, 25-15 and 25-10.
Christie Showers added 10 service points, four digs and two blocks for the Lady Panthers, while Kelsey Henry and Gabby Brumaghim each had four assists.
Cassie Brancato had four kills for Mayfield (6-0 overall, 5-0 WAC).
Marie Sullivan had two kills, two service points and two blocks for Saratoga Catholic (2-2 overall, 2-2 WAC).
Canajoharie 3, Duanesburg 0
DUANESBURG - Jane Boppert had 12 kills, four aces and one block to lead Canajoharie to a 3-0 win over Duanesburg.
Canajoharie won by scores of 26-24, 25-20 and 25-10.
Caitlyn Mosher added 10 service points and 10 assists for the Lady Cougars (6-1 overall, 6-0 WAC).
Olivia Matz paced Duanesburg with 12 points and eight kills, and Sarah Woodbeck added seven kills.
Galway 3, Fort Plain 0
FORT PLAIN - Karenna Martin had 17 service points, eight aces and six kills to lead Galway to a sweep of Fort Plain.
The Eagles won by scores of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-10.
Katie Lasak added 19 assists for Galway, which improved to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in?Western Athletic Conference play.
Gabby Brownell led Fort Plain (0-6 overall, 0-5 WAC) with nine digs and eight service points.
Becca Rush added eight service points and two aces for the Lady Hilltoppers, while Sharissa Hogan had seven kills.
Alyssa Introne had six assists for Fort Plain and Kelsey Hagadorn had two blocks for Fort Plain.
