POSTED: September 11, 2009

GLOVERSVILLE - Ten suspects rounded up starting Thursday morning in a citywide drug raid involving "mid- to low-level" dealers were arraigned by the afternoon in City Court and Fulton County Court, county District Attorney Louise K. Sira said today.

"It was mostly crack cocaine being sold," she said. "This was throughout the city."

A Gloversville Police Department release issued today indicated officers arrested 10 people for selling marijuana or controlled substances. The arrests started at 7 a.m. and concluded at 4 p.m.

"It's part of an ongoing investigation," Gloversville police Capt. Donald VanDeusen said today. "We obviously have other targets we're after."

A?news release said city police are "still actively seeking other individuals" wanted in connection with this ongoing investigation.

City Police Capt. James Lorenzoni said the arrests were the result of a "lengthy and continuing" investigation by city police into illegal sale of marijuana and controlled substances.

Sira said the suspects are "mid- to low-level" dealers in the city, and many of the cases are unrelated.

"I would characterize the drug bust as a cumulative effort on the part of the Police Department," Sira said.

Many of the drugs came to this area through the Schenectady and Albany areas, she said.

Those arrested were as follows:

Shane St. Louis, 55, of 81 Washington St., Gloversville, was charged with one count each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies.

Toni M. Boromeo, 33, of 28 Chestnut St., Gloversville, was charged with two counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

David D. Meyers, 49, of 52 North St., Gloversville, was charged with two counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Jacob Holmes, 41, of 69 W. Fulton St., Gloversville, was charged with two counts of fifth-degree criminal sale of marijuana, misdemeanors.

Lisa Leach, 40, of 82 Fremont St., Gloversville, was charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

Keith Trickler, 52, of 41 West St., Gloversville, was charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of marijuana.

Lawrence Irby, 51, of 10 Union St., Gloversville, was charged with two counts each of fourth-degree criminal sale of marijuana.

All of those seven defendants were arraigned in City Court before Judge Vincent DeSantis.

Others arrested:

Stephen Blaney, 27, of 28 Franklin St., Gloversville, was charged with three counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; and misdemeanor seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

James "Poppa Doc" Lanier, 67, of 12 Temple St., Gloversville, was charged with two counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Annette Kilmartin, 40, of 30 Fifth Ave., Gloversville, was charged with two counts each of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance; and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Sira said Kilmartin allegedly sold Alprazolam, a valium-type prescription.

Those three defendants were arrested on sealed Fulton County grand jury indictments and arraigned before Judges Polly A. Hoye and Richard C. Giardino.

Sira said Blaney and Lanier were sent to the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, and Kilmartin was released for a future court appearance.
