Man admits taping sex acts with girl

FONDA - A?teenager pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Court to videotaping sex acts with a girl.

Ira P. Huntington, 19, of 1282 Latimer Hill Road, Canajoharie, pleaded guilty Sept. 1 before Judge Felix Catena to one count of promoting a sexual performance by a child.

Sentencing was adjourned until Oct. 30, but he is expected to receive six months in the county jail and 10 years of probation as part of a plea arrangement.

Police said he videotaped sex acts with a 15-year-old girl at his town of Root home in June.

In another case before Catena, Rosemarie Velez, 26, of 242 E. Main St,, Amsterdam, pleaded guilty Sept. 1 to one count of third-degree welfare fraud. Sentencing was adjourned until Oct. 23, but he is expected to receive six months in the county jail, five years of probation and pay $14,628 in restitution as part of a plea arrangement.

Police said she failed to report accurate information to the county Department of Social Services, receiving benefits illegally.
