H.S. Golf Roundup: Amsterdam tops B-P in non-league match

AMSTERDAM - David Hughes fired a round of 68 to earn medalist honors and lead the Amsterdam Rams to a 170-177 non-league victory over Broadalbin-Perth Tuesday at Amsterdam Municipal Golf Course.

Kurt Kowalczyk finished two shots back from Hughes with a 40, while Gaetano Lanzi and Joe Eckert round out the scorers for Amsterdam (1-0) with round of 45 and 47, respectively.

Broadalbin-Perth (1-1) was paced by Garrison DeRocker's round of 42. Connor Gifford followed with a 44, while Jake Rounds short 45 and Tom Mittler 46.

Amsterdam will host Johnstown in a non-league match today, while Broadalbin-Perth squared off against Gloversville this morning at Pine Brook Golf Club.

Western Athletic Conference

Canajoharie 12, Fonda-Fultonville 3

FORT JOHNSON- Taylor Macci posted a 3-over par 38 to lead Canajoharie to a 12-3 win over Fonda-Fultonville Tuesday in a Western Athletic Conference match at Rolling Hills Country Club.

Dakota Frasier added a 41 for the Cougars, while Andy Herron and Josh Crouse both posted rounds of 49.

Creighton Joscelyn notched a 51 for Canajoharie and Sierra Frasier finished with a 52.

Clark Egelston paced Fonda-Fultonville with a 43, while Mark Dietrick added a 47.

Tyler Handy carded a 54, Joel Bargstedt posted a 56, Brett Noonan had a 59 and Cody Unczur finished with a 64 for FFCS.

Non-league

Gloversville 172, Mayfield 193

JOHNSTOWN - Chris LeFever posted a 2-over par 37 to lead Gloversville to a 172-193 non-league victory over Mayfield in a match played at Hales Mills Country Club.

Kevin Johnston shot a 43 for Gloversville, while Chris Mosconi and Mike Marra each carded a 46.

Doug Brown paced Mayfield with a 43, while Robert Rose posted a 49 for the Panthers.

Gloversville hosted Broadalbin-Perth this morning at Pine Brook?Golf Club.
