Four area riders post wins at Royal

Dutcher, Stowell, Kollar, Eutermarks record overall victories

CAROGA LAKE - After Wednesday's wet weather, Monster Supercross at Royal Mountain Ski Area was moved to its Thursday make-up date for the first time this season.

Gloversville's Jesse Dutcher, Canajoharie's James Stowell, Fort Plain's Zackery Kollar and Gloversville Cameron Eutermarks all picked up overall wins.

Dutcher finished first in the quad amateur class, Stowell won the quad expert class, Kollar won the mini 80 9- to 11-year-old class and Eutermarks won the 122-250cc amateur class.

Kollar also placed third in the 80 plus 10- to 16-year-old class.

Four area riders placed in the top five in the 122-250cc amateur class with Eutermarks first, St. Johnsville's Andrew Duesler second, Amsterdam's Chad Miller was fourth and Gloversville's Jared Leto was fifth.

Whitesboro's Mitch Daugherty had a perfect night winning all four of his motos in the 122-250cc expert and 122-open expert classes to claim two overall wins. He also won the dash-for-cash.

Other winners included Corinth's Luke Petteys (quad novice), Cicero's Rico Lucio (50cc junior stock 4-6), Edmeston's Brad Williams (50cc senior stock 7-8), Corinth's Chad Burnham (85cc 12-15), Esperance's Matt Dwyer (plus-30 expert), Schaghticoke's John St. Gelais (plus-30 amateur), Ravena's Kevin Scarcella (122-250 novice), Cobleskill's Ryan Daly (mini 60), Little Falls' Cole Fredericks (80 plus 10-16), Schaghticoke's Evan Rosko (122-open novice) and Westerlo's Joe Vitetta (122-open amateur).

Several local riders posted solid showings.

In the 50cc senior stock 7- to 8-year-old class, Gloversville's Brandon Handy was second and Fonda's Tyler Blowers was third.

In the 122-250cc expert class, Mayfield's B.J. Smith was fourth and St. Johnsville's Burton Wilson was fifth. Smith was second in the 122-open expert class, Wilson was fourth and Gloversville's Adam Handy was fifth.

Fonda's Clayton Blowers was second in the plus-30 expert class, while Johnstown's Joey Morrison was third in the 122-open amateur class.

Picking up fifth-place finishes were Broadalbin's Dan Sawyer (quad amateur), Gloversville's Thomas Perham (85cc 12-15) and Wells' Kenneth David Chicoski (plus-30 amateur),

A field of 150 riders was in attendance.

Royal Mountain will be back in action Saturday hosting a Monster Supercross event with practice beginning at 7 p.m. and racing immediately following. On Sunday, Royal will host its last Central New York Motocross Riders Association District 3 event of the season.

Practice will begin at 8:30 a.m. with racing getting underway at 11 a.m.
