Linda S. Vincent, 59, formerly of Perth, died peacefully on Friday morning July 17, 2009 at the home of her caregivers in Broadalbin surrounded by her family.

She was born in Gloversville on July 11, 1950 a daughter of H. John and Kathleen Smith Buyce and was a 1968 graduate of Mayfield High School. Linda was a lifelong area resident.

She owned and operated the former Crazy 8 Diner in Mayfield for several years.

Linda enjoyed country-line dancing as well as country music. She was an avid Bingo player and was a fabulous cook. Most of all, Linda enjoyed spending time with family and friends and supporting her grandsons at their sporting events.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Vincent of Fonda; 2 sons, Chad (Melinda) Manzer of Johnstown and Scott J. Manzer of Simi Valley, CA; a daughter, Laura K. Manzer of Troy; a brother, Michael Buyce of Mayfield; 6 grandsons, Christopher, Brandon, Matthew, Corey, Chad Jr., and Joshua Manzer; an aunt, Shirley Little; a niece; and several cousins. Her family gratefully acknowledges her caregivers, Larry "Frenchie" and Jeannie Belanger for all of their care and support given during Linda's illness.

Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 38 West Main Street Broadalbin with Chaplain Gerald Buyce officiating. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Final burial of remains will be held at the Mayfield Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Gloversville Little League, in care of the funeral home.
