Railfest slated in Gloversville

POSTED: July 10, 2009

GLOVERSVILLE - The city's fifth annual Railfest will be held Aug. 8, with a rain date of Aug. 9, at Trail Station Park on West Fulton Street from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Admission is free, but donations of non-perishable food items will be collected all day and will benefit the Fulmont Community Action Agency.

The festival is an alcohol-free family event. It will include crafters, food vendors and agency informational booths from across the area, as well as rides and a bounce house for children. There will be a raffle table with baskets and gift certificates available.

There will be a classic car show. Entertainment will be provided by a variety of groups, including Flame, which will perform from 3 to 5 p.m. in the main gazebo. The Gloversville Fire Department will keep children cooled off with water spray throughout the day, which will be topped off with a fireworks display on the grounds at dusk.
