Annelisa 'Anna' John Wade
Annelisa "Anna" John Wade, 87 of Jockeyville Estates, Gloversville, died Wednesday, June 17, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. Born Dec. 20, 1921, in Kiel, Germany, she was the daughter of Christian and Bertha Dahn John. She came to the U.S. in 1927 with her family on a ship built by her family and settled in Johnstown where she was a life long resident. She graduated from Johnstown High School in 1941 and worked as a Foreman at Scotchmores and a closer for Swears Glove Manufacturers. On December 15,1945, she married the love of her life, Oliver C Wade, who died May 9, 1993. Throughout her life she enjoyed Knitting, Summers at Caroga Lake, Classic Movies and Music of the 40's, but above all, she was devoted to her loving family and friends. Anna is survived by her daughter, Marianne (Edward) Subik of Johnstown; four grandchildren, Margaret (Kevin) Stevens of Milford, Jonathan D. Subik of Albany, Patrick E. Subik of Johnstown and Lauren (Eric) Pica of Johnstown; three great-grandchildren, Na'Jon Subik and mother Kendra Smith of Cleveland, Ohio, Riley and Carter Stevens. She is also survived by her extended family, Nancy (Louis) Boom and their children Sara and Jacob of Valrico FL; dear friends whom she considered family, Marion Nellis, Arlene Sitterly, Eugena Anagnostopulos, David and Judy Sponenberg and their families. She is predeceased by her husband and one grandson, James Edward Subik in 1969. A Funeral service will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m. at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher St., Johnstown with Dr. Rev. R.W. Williams officiating. Friends and Family may call Friday 4-7 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
