COOPERSTOWN - Tyler Barhydt had a fifth-inning grand slam to lift St. Johnsville Morris J. Edwards Post to an 11-3 win over Cooperstown Tuesday in its season opener.

Barhydt finished with two hits and five RBIs, while Tyler Hall led off the game with a home run and finished with two hits.

Josh Nethaway also recorded two hits for St. Johnsville.

Jason Biron got the win on the mound for St. Johnsville (1-0), which hosts Little Falls today at 6 p.m. at Soldiers and Sailors Field.

Adam Halay had a solo home run and an RBI double for Cooperstown.
