Watson, Kadle, Stemmler post victories

BROADALBIN - Three local athletes brought home titles from the Section II Class BB track and field championships Thursday at Broadalbin-Perth High School.
Gloversville's Dustin Watson and Tyler Kadle and Broadalbin-Perth's Shanise Stemmler claimed sectional championships.
Watson cruised to victory in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 15.5.
Kadle tied the Gloversville school record at 13-6 to defeat South Glens Falls' Adam Hume on jumps to claim the pole vault championship.
Stemmler compiled 2,348 points to capture the girls' pentathlon title.
In the team standings, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake swept the championships, defeating Scotia-Glenville 126-103 for the boys' title and Holy Names 134-92.5 for the girls' title.
Host Broadalbin-Perth placed fifth in the girls' standings with 45 points and sixth in the boys' standings with 32 points.
The Gloversville boys placed ninth with 27 points, while the Gloversville girls were 13th with nine points.
Also earning a podium finish for Broadalbin-Perth was Andrew Goodspeed, who placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:26.1.
Gloversville's Amanda Knox was runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.4.
Broadalbin-Perth's Nicole Wojciechowski placed third in the 2,000-meter steeplechase with her time of 7:39.9.
