He won the 100-meter dash with a time of 121.5 and the 400 meters in 52.8, the 110 hurdles in 17.7 and the pole vault with 3.66. He also won the 1,500 meters in 5:11.8.

Duross accumulated 5,232 points and will compete in the Division III nationals at Alfred State.

Katie Finch (Broadalbin-Perth) threw a two-hit shutout and struck out six batters for the State University of New York at Cortland softball team in a 10-0 win over SUNY Potsdam.

Cortland, which is ranked ninth nationally in Division III, has finished the regular season and, with a previous doubleheader sweep over SUNY Plattsburgh, has wrapped up the SUNY Athletic Conference regular-season title.

The Red Dragons also have won 30 games for eight straight seasons.

Finch is 18-2 with a .67 ERA. She has 208 strikeouts in 136 innings pitched.

Kris Barone (Gloversville) doubled in the first game of a doubleheader as the Herkimer County Community College baseball team split with Tompkins-Cortland Community College.

Barone had eight hits Sunday in a doubleheader sweep of Jefferson County Community College. He also drove in a key run. He doubled twice in the second game.

Dave Gage (Broadalbin-Perth) hit a three-run double, helping the Southern Vermont College baseball team to an 11-5 win in the first game of a doubleheader against Becker College.

Gage also came around to score.

He is hitting .302 for the Mountaineers with two doubles and 11 RBIs.

Kyle Hill (Oppenheim-Ephratah) gave up four earned runs, leading the Cazenovia College baseball team to a win over Hilbert College as the two teams split a doubleheader.

Hill gave the Wildcats a complete-game effort.

Matt Begeal (Wells) had a hit in each game and drove in a run in the first for Hilbert.

Michelle Jackson (Amsterdam) threw a complete game for the Oswego State softball team as the Lakers snapped a SUNYAC losing streak with a sweep over SUNY Potsdam.

Jackson struck out eight batters and walked only two.

Despite a 5-10 record, Jackson has a .368 ERA and has struck out 83 batters in 95 innings.

Luke Nellis (Fonda-Fultonville) worked out of trouble in the bottom of the seventh inning for the LeMoyne baseball team to earn the save as the Dolphins split a doubleheader with Bryant.

Nellis has two saves and 36 strikeouts in 37 innings.

Teammate Tom McDermott (Amsterdam) is 3-3 with a 5.87 ERA and has 49 strikeouts in 46 innings.
