Don and Theresa Bowers of Oppenheim, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with dinner party at Lombardo's Restaurant with approximately 50 family members in attendance.
The couple married Feb. 19, 1949 at the Lutheran Church of Fort Plain. The Rev. Herbert Mahl officiated. Their attendants were Wilma Stowell, sister of the bride; and Herbert Bowers, brother of the bridegroom.
They have five children, Linda Duesler, Carol (John) Paul, John Bowers and Herbert (Linda) Bowers, all of Oppenheim; and Patricia Clements of Guilderland, Albany County; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Theresa Bowers retired from the Oppenheim-Ephratah School District. She enjoys baking and doing crossword puzzles. Don Bowers retired from the Eastern Rock Construction. He enjoys woodworking, hunting, fishing and gardening. They both enjoy camping and spending time with their family.
