Alcohol sting leads to charges for five

FULTONVILLE - Five people at five different establishments were ticketed Friday in a joint alcohol-sales sting conducted by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and the New York State Liquor Authority.

Charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a minor were:

John Hickling, 29, of 34 Church St., Canajoharie, a bartender at Jim's Irish Harbor in Canajoharie.

Shafqat Hussain, 34, of P.O. Box 235, Nelliston, a clerk at the Daily Mart in Nelliston.

Lisa A. Bailey, 47, of 9 Canal St., Fort Plain, a bartender at the Canal Street Pub in Fort Plain.

Mary A. Premo, 28, formerly of Prindle Avenue, Johnstown, a bartender at Knuckleheads Bar in Fultonville.

Christina M. Yaichuk, 25, of 2 Canal St., Fort Plain, a bartender at Iroquois Lanes in Canajoharie.

Deputies said the five people charged each sold alcohol to a minor working with the authorities, deputies said. They were given tickets to appear in their local municipal courts and released.
